What is the GPM flow rate of the R10000-UNBX rough in valve. I believe this takes the RP46463 cartridge assembly.
Asked by: Edward
Hi, Edward!Thank you for your question. The Delta MultiChoice R10000-UNBX rough in valve will not determine the flow rate. The trim kit that is selected to be installed with the rough in valve will include the valve cartridge assembly and will determine the flow rate for the unit. Best Regards,Rosanna

Thank you for your question, Erio! The Delta MultiChoice Universal Rough-In Valve R1000-UNBX is currently the only shower and tub/shower valve we manufacture. The ASSE1016MASCO is a plumbing code printed on several of our showering parts. Best regards,Tanya

What is the absolute narrowest stud spacing for me to install the Delta shower valve?

Thank you for your question, Rivermn. This valve is about 4" wide and will require supplies on the hot and cold side. You will need enough room for the plumbing connections and or elbows. How accurate and how stable is the temperature control for this valve? If the user selects say, "100 degrees", (F), will it stay within a degree of that temperature? Thanks very much in advance for responding.Vancouver, BC
Asked by: Batcave
Thank you for your question, Batcave! The R10000-UNBX MultiChoice Universal valve does not control temperature but rather acts as a simple mixing valve. The pressure balanced 13/14/17 series cartridges as well as the T17T trims which include a TempAssure Thermostatic cartridge will keep the temperature between ±3° F (±1.6° C) at all times.Best regards, Edward

I have a R100000-UNBX for a shower only installation. Can I just plug the tub outlet at the valve? Or do I need to exchange it for a UNBXH?
Asked by: Bill
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model R10000-UNBX can be used for a shower only application by pluggin the tub port. Model number R10000-UNBXHF is for shower only applications and if you would like higher flow from your valve. If you already have the R10000-UNBX, you can use it for a shower only application.

Is the model number printed on the valve somewhere?
My contractor has installed a Delta shower control valve as part of my bathroom remodel, but I can't tell which model it is, and want to know which shower/tub faucet combos I can consider. In particular, I like the Leland T14478-LHP H777 because I want a single porcelain lever. Which control valves will work with that faucet set? I've tried to look for a model number on the installed valve but don't know where to look or what distinguishes one from the other.
Asked by: Brian
Thank you for your question. The model number is not printed anywhere on our valves. If your contractor recently installed your Delta valve, it is a very good possibility that it is the R10000 series and the trim you are looking at will work just fine. In fact, with the R10000 series, you can change the trim as often as you like from the 1300/1400 to the 1700 series without going into the wall to change the valve.

Delta MultiChoice Valves
I am building 2 bathrooms and am looking at Delta faucets, etc. However, I have been warned to stay away from plumbing fixtures that have plastic pieces. Can you tell me if there is any plastic in the multichoice shower valve and what type of cartridge does the valve have? Ceramic, the new DST? Thank you.
Asked by: bkj03
Hi bkj03, The R10000 multichoice universal rough is made of brass. The rough will take our RP46074 single function pressure balanced cartridge, the RP46463 dual function pressure balanced cartridge, and the RP47201 dual function thermostatic cartridge. The cartridges use polymer seals, they are not ceramic. Thanks,Dave

Tankless/On Demand Water Heater Compatible?
We are looking on upgrading our water heater to some type of tankless style. Will this valve still operate properly with a tankless water heater? Have you had any issues/concerns with these installs?
Asked by: Kayla
Hi Kayla, Thank you for your question. The R10000-UNBX multichoice universal rough will not have any issues with a tankless water heater. We recommend using the valve with our 13/14 series trims with a single function pressure balanced cartridge or our 17 series trims with a dual function pressure balanced cartridge when using a tankless water heater. Thanks,Dave

I have 1/2 copper supply behind my wall. If I want control shower head, tub spout, and shower wand from a diverter, would I use this R10000 along with the R11000 and a non diverting tub spout?
Asked by: Bernard
Hi, Bernard!Thank you for your question. We do recommend to install the R10000 MultiChoice valve body with a R11000 Diverter valve body to connect a shower head and hand shower. We recommend to install a diverter tub spout to the bottom port of the R10000 MultiChoice valve body. You will then be able to divert the water from the tub spout to the R11000 diverter assembly. Asked by: Charlie
Hi Charlie,With the R10000-UNBX, you will need to use the updated Multi Choice cartridge. The new cartridge that is the equivalent of your current cartridge is part number RP46074. If you are going to be purchasing a new trim kit to go with the new valve, a new cartridge will come in that trim kit.

Can you use "Pex" products with this valve
I am using PEX product to install a shower up to the shower controls
Asked by: T
Thank you for your question. PEX products can be used with Delta Faucet model # R10000-UNBX but not between the valve and the tub spout. The only things you can use between the valve and the tub spout are copper pipe or iron pipe.If you use PEX in between those two points, you will get shower rise where water comes out of the showerhead when you are using the tub only.

Does the Delta MultiChoice Universal R10000-UNWS rough valve body work with Monitor 1400 series with a RP19804 cartridge?
Asked by: GAWU
Hello Gawu,Thank you for your question. The R10000-UNWS MultiChoice Universal Rough Valve Body takes multiple valve cartridge assemblies. If you purchased a Monitor T13 or T14 Series trim kit, you will need RP46074 (included with the trim kit). The RP19804 will not work/fit into the R10000-UNWS valve.Best regards,Tanya

Both the shower and tub spout run at same time
Asked by: Idmclean13
Thank you for your question. I apologize that you are having an issue and by your description, it sounds like you are having shower rise. This can occur when any of the following situations are not followed:1) The distance between the tub spout and valve has to be between 8"-18".2) Copper or iron pipe is the only thing that can be used between the tub spout and the valve.3) There can only be one elbow from the valve to the tub spout. If any of these are not followed, you will have shower rise until the problem is corrected.

Is the plasterguard necessary?
I didn't realize the plasterguard was part of the assembly. Also, my opening is round not square as I am using a Kerdi membrane kit for my shower. Can I install this without the plasterguard? Thanks and good day.
Asked by: Eddie
Dear Eddie,Thank you for your inquiry! The Delta MultiChoice Universal Rough-In Valve R10000-UNBX contains a plasterguard that is used in aiding the installation of your faucet. It is not necessary to the functionality of the faucet. If you choose not to use the plastergaurd as a guide to cut the hole, please make sure that the hole is large enough to access the screw holes for the trim plate.Best regards,Tanya

Hello Scott,Thank you for your question.
